HOW TO FIX CORRUPTED USB FLASH DRIVE

Make any of your damaged Flash drive into work with these 5 simple steps. Generally when ever a Flash drive gets corrupted , then the following things happen:

  1. Flash drive will not be detected
  2. The storage data of the flash drive will be reduced
  3. The flash drive will not be formatted by using basic/regular procedure.
  4. Failure in sending data to the flash drive.

If any of the above problems arise and if you are not using your old flash drives due to this reason, then

THIS IS FOR YOU

STEP 1:

Tap the windows button in the left lower corner of the screen and SEARCH FOR “CREATE AND FORMAT HARD DISK PARTITIONS”

STEP 2:

So when the application opens we can see the flash drive partition below the default Hard disk drives. (image is marked in the above diagram).

STEP 3:

Now Right click the mouse over the Flash drive partition and you will see the following options. Out of these options 2 options are very important. They are:

(POINT 1) Marked with Red is “Format”:

It is generally used when the pen drive fails to format in conditions like when it is corrupted.
This generally occurs when some one removes the drive while copying files/ some times the USB drive fails to work properly due to unknown reasons.
In these conditions, the pen drive fails to get formatted or fails to open.In such conditions Format option can be opted.

(POINT 2) Marked with Blue is “Delete volume”:

It is generally used to delete the volume and regain the same volume back. Usually this option is used when the Pen drive is working but it is showing less space than its default space.
Eg: lets think that we are using a 8GB pen drive, then when we place it in our computed, it is showing only 2GB of free space even though the pen drive is empty.
In such conditions its better to delete the volume and again create the same volume back. This is a similar method that we do while making partitions in the hard disk.
***POINT 1 Procedure has to be followed only in special conditions as mentioned in the above paragraph. Other wise POINT 2 procedure is enough in most of the cases***
Both methods work for repairing a damaged / corrupted pen drive. After creating partition as discussed in “POINT 2”, “The POINT 1” procedure has to be done, i.e formatting the disk (for better results).

STEP 4:

When you press the format option, then the following window opens. Click on “yes” button.

STEP 5:

After pressing yes, then the following window opens. Select between “NTFS” or “Fat 32” & press “OK”.

HURRAH! THE WORK IS DONE.
I THINK THIS WORKS FOR EVERY ONE
